About RiskReady Risk Ready will be an interactive experiential learning centre designed to learn about everyday safety in a fun, exciting and safe way. It will house an interactive ‘village’ with a purpose built house, a road, railway line, a bus, driving simulators, a coastal scene, a farm area, and a park, to name but a few. The village will be home to interactive ‘sets’, each dealing with a different safety or social issue such as road safety, home safety, fire safety, first aid, the effects of anti social behaviour, doorstep cheats, internet safety, in fact the list is endless. Children, families, and older people will all have a great time at Risk Ready whilst learning valuable lessons in staying safe in everyday life. Whether it’s older people learning how to deal with doorstep cheats, young parents learning about child safety or first aid for under 5’s, children learning something as simple and effective as the green cross code, families learning how to create their own fire escape plan or anyone who has suffered a life changing injury learning how to live independently again, Risk Ready will have something for everyone. The emotional cost of accidental injury and death cannot be measured and the financial cost is staggering. Help us make the North East the safest and the best place to live, work and play.
